Terms & Conditions

The scope of this independent student project and the responsibilities that come with using it.

Purpose and independence

Harper is an independent student project operated by Jenn Umanzor to help people discover resources and make personal plans. It is not endorsed by or acting as an official service of the University of Chicago or Chicago Booth. Official school systems and staff remain authoritative for registration, degree requirements, deadlines and access rights.

Accounts and acceptable use

Use accurate account information, protect your credentials and do not share sign-in links or codes. Do not access other people’s accounts, evade access controls, upload malicious content, scrape personal information, harass others, impersonate a school official or use Harper for unlawful activity. A confirmed email establishes control of an email address, not school affiliation.

Content you provide

Submit only content you have permission to use and share with the audience shown. Do not submit confidential school, employer or third-party materials, private group messages, sensitive identifiers or information about others without an appropriate basis. Keep private meeting locations and contact details out of public descriptions.

You retain your rights in your content. Your permission to Harper is limited to hosting, processing and displaying it as needed to provide your chosen features and audience. Private notes are not made public merely because they are saved. Public reviews require approval; published listings expose the fields described in the Privacy Policy. Review the audience before submitting.

Planning and recommendations

Course maps, degree trackers, schedules, values prompts and recommendations support exploration. They are not official advising, enrollment, professional advice or guarantees of eligibility, outcomes or availability. Confirm decisions with the original source. Imported dates and descriptions may become stale. Original practice exercises are not actual employer tests unless explicitly identified and authorized.

Community listings and reviews

Harper provides discovery, not verification of a person’s skills, identity, safety or affiliation. Users arrange any services, fees or exchanges directly. The reviewed site does not process marketplace payments or provide escrow. Do not post prohibited goods, misleading claims, abusive reviews or another person’s private information. Report concerns to Jenn; content or access may be restricted to address abuse, rights complaints or security incidents.

External sources and intellectual property

Linked content belongs to its respective owners and may require separate school access. Being linked here does not grant a license to copy it. University and third-party names and marks belong to their owners; their appearance does not imply endorsement. Send correction or removal requests with the relevant URL and enough detail to identify the issue.

Availability, leaving and changes

This student project may change, contain errors or become unavailable. Keep your own copies of important plans. Archive controls are not deletion; contact Jenn about closing an account and deleting data. Material changes will be described on these pages. Continued availability is not guaranteed.
